Bargarh (Odisha): On Friday, at Biju Patnaik Town Hall, Sankalpa Pariwar commemorated its 5th Foundation Day alongside Balidan Divas, paying tribute to the bravehearts of the Pulwama attack. This annual observance has been a tradition for the past five years, honoring the supreme sacrifices of India’s soldiers.
Brief introduction of Sankalpa Pariwar:
In honor of the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the Pulwama terrorist attack, we observed Balidan Diwas on February 14, 2020. With a spirit of social service and tribute to the martyrs, Sankalpa Pariwar was established on the same day. This year, on February 14, 2025, we are proudly celebrating its 5th Foundation Day.
Sankalpa Pariwar was founded with a deep sense of social responsibility and is now a registered trust. Since its inception, it has actively contributed to various humanitarian causes, standing as a beacon of hope for those in need.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, when fear gripped society, Sankalpa Pariwar fearlessly stepped forward by:
Transporting COVID-affected patients to hospitals, Providing oxygen support, Distributing food to the homeless and mentally challenged individuals on the streets, Arranging safe transport for migrant workers,
Organizing blood donation camps to combat shortages, and Offering ambulance services for accident victims.
Till date, Sankalpa Pariwar has performed the last rites of 579 unclaimed bodies and has organized 156 blood donation camps, contributing over 5,000 units of blood to Burla and Bargarh Blood Banks.
The organization has also rescued and rehabilitated over 100 mentally challenged individuals, providing them with medical care and shelter at various rehabilitation centers across the state. Furthermore, Sankalpa Pariwar has been supporting financially disadvantaged yet meritorious students and continues to provide free ambulance services for the needy.
Today’s event was presided over by Bikash Agrawal, President of Sankalpa Pariwar, and graced by Sushant Sahu, Assistant Commandant of CRPF Sambalpur, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Sujit Kumar Pruseth, Assistant Professor at IIM Sambalpur, attended as the keynote speaker, while Utpana Bhoi (Advisor, Farmers’ Association) and revolutionary poet Nitish Acharya were among the distinguished guests. The proceedings were coordinated by Sanjay Satpathy.
Blood Donation Camp in Memory of Martyrs:
To honor the fallen soldiers, Sankalpa Pariwar organized a blood donation camp, inaugurated by Chief Guest Sushant Sahu. A total of 46 units of blood were collected and dedicated as a mark of respect to the martyrs.
Honoring Families of 8 Brave Martyrs:
The event also saw felicitation of families of 8 martyrs from Bargarh district, recognizing their sacrifices for the nation. The honored families included; Shaheed Gangadhar Dalei (Barahmunda, Attabira) , Shaheed Kaushal Kishore Pradhan (Babaji Math, Attabira), Shaheed Nilanchal Patel (Baghpali, Bheden), Shaheed Padmalochan Majhi (Baradol, Bargarh), Shaheed Prakash Sahu (Katapali, Bargarh), Shaheed Ranjan Das (Khandhata, Bargarh), Shaheed Tukeshwar Bhoi (Nuagada, Bhatli), Shaheed Sanjay Bagh (Kudopali, Bheden)
Their family members were present to receive the honors and appreciation from the organization.
Recognition for Social Service for their Exceptional contributions to Social Work, Sankalpa Pariwar conferred the “Sankalpa Seva Samman” upon; Maa Limasarien Yuvak Sachetan Sangh, Sambalpur and Renowned social worker Anju Mittal. Additionally, 10 organizations that actively organize blood donation camps in collaboration with Sankalpa Pariwar were also honored.
Cultural Tributes & Patriotic Songs; The event featured a stirring patriotic musical performance by Ankita Raj, deeply touching the audience. Several cultural programs showcasing the spirit of nationalism captivated attendees.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Nirakar Pradhan, an active member of Sankalpa Pariwar.
