New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several significant railway projects via video conferencing, including the Rayagada Railway Division Building.
The Prime Minister inaugurated the Jammu Railway Division and laid the foundation stone for the Rayagada Railway Division Building under the East Coast Railway. Additionally, the Charlapalli New Terminal Station in Telangana was inaugurated, marking another milestone in India’s railway infrastructure development.
On the occasion of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Jayanti, the Prime Minister extended his greetings, emphasizing how Guru Ji’s teachings inspire the nation’s vision of prosperity and strength. Highlighting India’s rapid strides in connectivity, he pointed out that the country’s metro rail network now exceeds 1,000 kilometers, following recent expansions such as the inauguration of the Namo Bharat train in Delhi-NCR.
He remarked that the projects launched in Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, and Telangana reflect a unified national progress, bolstering development across northern, eastern, and southern India. Shri Modi reiterated the commitment to inclusive development under the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” which continues to drive India toward becoming a developed nation.
Acknowledging Odisha’s vast natural resources and strategic coastline, the Prime Minister highlighted ongoing railway projects worth over ₹70,000 crore in the state. He also spoke about the seven Gati Shakti cargo terminals, which aim to strengthen trade and industry in the region. The foundation stone for the Rayagada Railway Division, he noted, will enhance infrastructure in South Odisha, benefiting tourism, business, and tribal communities.
At the inauguration of the Charlapalli New Terminal Station, Shri Modi emphasized its strategic connection to the Outer Ring Road, which is expected to catalyze regional development. The station, equipped with modern facilities such as solar-powered operations, lifts, escalators, and spacious platforms, will ease congestion in Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Kachiguda stations, making travel more efficient and sustainable.
Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence in India’s growth trajectory, urging citizens to continue contributing to national progress. “Together, we will accelerate this growth even further,” he said while congratulating the people of India on these accomplishments.
The event witnessed the presence of several key dignitaries, including Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw, G Kishan Reddy, and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, as well as governors and chief ministers of the respective states.
The projects inaugurated and initiated today mark another step in India’s journey toward enhanced connectivity and sustainable infrastructure.
