Bhubaneswar:The Commissionerate Police in the capital city has issued a traffic advisory in preparation for the Winter Session of the Odisha Assembly, set to commence on November 26 (Tuesday). The advisory outlines traffic restrictions in the vicinity of the Assembly to address security concerns.
The regulations will remain in effect until the session concludes on December 31.
Key Traffic Diversions:
1. Housing Board Square:Vehicles coming from Housing Board Square will be diverted at Keshari Talkies Square, taking a left turn.
2. AG Square:Vehicles traveling from AG Square to PMG Square will turn right at Jaydev Bhawan and proceed via Indira Gandhi Park Road.
3. Master Canteen: Vehicles heading to PMG Square from Master Canteen will be diverted through adjoining lanes at Lower PMG.
4. 120 Infantry Battalion Square:Vehicles from this location will not proceed to Rabindra Mandap and will instead be diverted towards Power House Square.
5. Raj Bhawan Square: Vehicles moving towards MLA Colony and Rabindra Mandap will be diverted to Sastrinagar Square.
Exemptions: Emergency vehicles, including police, fire, and ambulances, as well as vehicles authorized for official duties at the Odisha Assembly, State Secretariat, and other government offices, are exempt from these restrictions.
Assembly Highlights:
The First Supplementary Statement of Expenditure for the fiscal year 2024-25 will be tabled on November 26. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who also serves as the Finance Minister, will present the Appropriation Bill on the Supplementary Statement of Expenditure on December 5. The Winter Session of the Assembly will span 30 business days.
