(Odisha)- A special Road Safety and Traffic Awareness Program was organized today at Sanskar International School, Bargarh, in collaboration with the Road Safety Department. The initiative aimed to educate students about traffic rules and the importance of safe road practices.
The awareness program, hosted at the school’s Swami Vivekananda Hall, witnessed the participation of 90 students from various institutions including George High School, AEM English Medium School, Rotary Public School, Vikash Residential School, and Rainbow Public School.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including ADM Mahendra Mahapatra, RTO Engineer Sabua Majhi, Chairman, AEM English Medium School Yashwir Singh Saini, , and Traffic Inspector Manol Mahapatra. Representing Sanskar International School were Chairman Suman Sawadia, Principal Karan Sahu, and Director Siddharth Sawdia.
During the session, students were trained as traffic volunteers and educated about road safety through videos of real accident cases. They were encouraged to follow safe practices and spread awareness among peers. Addressing the gathering, ADM Mahendra Mahapatra advised each student to pass on their training to at least five other children, thereby extending the safety chain. He stressed that careful adherence to traffic rules could significantly reduce accidents.
Chairman Suman Sawadia appealed to everyone to remain alert on roads and contribute to spreading awareness. Principal Karan Sahu urged students to motivate their parents to strictly follow traffic rules. Director Siddharth Sawadia highlighted the importance of speed control while driving and the necessity of obeying road safety regulations.
As a gesture of respect, all guests were presented with saplings. Students received certificates for their active participation. Later, the participants moved to Gandhi Chowk, where they practiced the road safety measures they had learned during the program.
The event successfully combined awareness with practical learning, inspiring young minds to become ambassadors of road safety in their communities.
