Bhubaneswar- President Droupadi Murmu is set to visit Odisha for a two-day tour beginning July 14, during which she will attend key academic and cultural events in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. In preparation, the state government held a high-level meeting at Lokseva Bhawan today to finalize arrangements.
As per the official schedule, the President will arrive in Bhubaneswar on July 14 afternoon via a special Indian Air Force aircraft. On the same day, she will attend the fifth convocation ceremony of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar.
Her itinerary continues on July 15 with participation in the thirteenth convocation of Ravenshaw University in Cuttack. She will also lay the foundation stone for infrastructure development at Ravenshaw Girls’ High School.
Later that day, President Murmu will grace the 600th birth anniversary celebration of legendary Odia poet Adikabi Sarala Das, organized by the Sarala Sahitya Sansad. During the event, she will present the prestigious Kalinga Ratna Award-2024 before departing for New Delhi in the evening.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja led the preparatory meeting, which reviewed detailed plans for security, transport routes, medical support, fire safety, and uninterrupted power supply. Officials have been instructed to arrange backup generators as a precaution.
Senior officials including Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Satyabrata Sahoo, and DGP YB Khurania were also present at the coordination meeting.
