Bhubaneswar-  President Droupadi Murmu is set to arrive in Odisha on a two-day official visit, during which she will attend the convocation ceremonies of two premier educational institutions—AIIMS-Bhubaneswar and Ravenshaw University in Cuttack. The visit, regarded as a moment of pride for the state as she hails from Odisha, will be marked by grand academic events and extensive security deployment.

As per the official itinerary, President Murmu will grace the 5th convocation of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar on the evening of her arrival. The following day, on July 15, she will attend the 13th convocation of Ravenshaw University, where she will confer degrees on graduating students and felicitate distinguished personalities with honorary recognitions.

Security preparations are in full swing ahead of the high-profile visit. Commissionerate Police has already conducted a full rehearsal, including a carcade drill. According to senior police officials, 70 platoons of police force and over 300 officers will be deployed across Bhubaneswar and Cuttack to ensure flawless security arrangements.

Cuttack DCP Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo confirmed that detailed protocols are in place at multiple venues in Cuttack, with more than 50 platoons designated for general security and 20 platoons specifically for local arrangements. The entire security apparatus has been put on high alert, with special emphasis on traffic management and crowd control around the convocation venues.

The twin convocations are expected to be attended by top dignitaries from the academic, administrative, and political spheres. With the spotlight on Odisha for these prestigious ceremonies, the visit not only celebrates educational excellence but also reflects the state’s growing importance in national affairs.
