Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the Winter Session of the Odisha Assembly starting November 26, an all-party meeting was chaired by Speaker Surama Padhy on Monday to ensure smooth proceedings.
Chief Minister and Leader of the House Mohan Charan Majhi, BJD Chief Whip Pramila Mallik, Congress Legislature Party leader Ramchandra Kadam, and leaders from other parties attended the meeting. The Speaker emphasized the need for a productive session, stating, “We had extensive discussions to ensure smooth and constructive deliberations. The meeting was successful.”
The session is expected to witness heated debates as the opposition, led by the BJD and Congress, plans to target the government on issues like law and order and the recent death of a minor.
Senior BJD leader Pratap Keshari Deb stated that his party would focus on pressing concerns, while the Congress Legislature Party is finalizing its strategy in an evening meeting.
The 17th Odisha Assembly’s second session will run from November 26 to December 31.
