Bolangir: The District Voluntary Force (DVF) of Bolangir police dismantled a Maoist camp in the Chhatradandi Reserve Forest under the Turekela police station, seizing a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and other Maoist supplies.
The raid, conducted on December 14, was led by Turekela Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Ramakant Sahu, following intelligence reports indicating heightened Maoist activity in the region.
During a press conference, Bolangir Superintendent of Police (SP) Rishikesh Khilari Dnyandeo detailed the items recovered, which included one rifle, .303 live ammunition, detonators, a bundle of detonator wires, electric wires, a stationary walkie-talkie, a solar plate, and radio antennas. The team also seized Maoist uniforms, books in Hindi and Telugu, banners, knives, and other materials linked to Maoist activities.
The seized items were displayed at the Reserve Police Office. SP Khilari assured that intensified efforts are underway to counter Maoist operations in the area.
The raid marks a significant step in curbing Maoist influence in Bolangir and reinforces the police’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the region.
