Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi assured Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar that the state would allocate land in Bhubaneswar to build the company’s largest centre in India.
The discussion took place on the sidelines of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention at Janata Maidan, where the Chief Minister and Ravi Kumar deliberated on the development of a state-of-the-art Cognizant campus in Bhubaneswar.
Chief Minister Majhi expressed Odisha’s commitment to facilitating the project, promising land within the city and full support for making the Bhubaneswar campus the company’s flagship centre in India.
Ravi Kumar outlined Cognizant’s vision for the Bhubaneswar facility, emphasizing its potential for rapid growth over the next five years. He also discussed plans to leverage the campus to drive innovation and create employment opportunities in the region.
The Chief Minister sought Ravi Kumar’s assistance in attracting additional investments to Odisha’s IT and ITeS sectors. Ravi Kumar assured his support, highlighting Cognizant’s dedication to collaborating with the state government to promote technological growth and investments.
Majhi also congratulated Ravi Kumar on being honored with the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman earlier that day, recognizing his achievements and contributions as a global business leader with roots in Odisha.
The proposed Cognizant centre in Bhubaneswar is expected to boost the state’s IT infrastructure and position Odisha as a hub for technology and innovation.
