Cuttack: A tragic incident unfolded at the renowned Cuttack Bali Yatra this evening when a minor boy lost his life due to electrocution near the Cantonment Police Station, according to sources.
The victim, identified as Biswa Prakash Manthan, hailed from Jagatsinghpur district and was a Plus Two student at Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Tulsipur, Cuttack.
Biswa had reportedly visited the Bali Yatra with companions when he accidentally touched decorative string lights, leading to an electric shock.
Alerted by bystanders, police promptly arrived at the scene and rushed him to SCB Medical College and Hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
The shocking incident has cast a shadow over the festive celebrations, leaving attendees and locals deeply saddened.
