Bhubaneswar – Bringing new energy to the Congress party’s women’s wing in Odisha, Meenakshi Bahinipati has been appointed as the state president of the Odisha Pradesh Mahila Congress. Her appointment was formally approved by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge, as per an official statement released by the party.
Known for her grassroots involvement and prior leadership as president of the Koraput District Congress Committee(DCC), Meenakshi’s elevation is seen as a significant move to strengthen the women cadre of the party in the state.
She is also the wife of Tara Prasad Bahinipati, the five-time elected MLA from Jeypore and a seasoned Congress leader. Tara Prasad, who has recently been named a vice president of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC), continues to hold a prominent role in shaping the party’s state-level strategies.
With her political experience and deep roots in the organizational structure, Meenakshi Bahinipati is expected to play a vital role in mobilizing women voters and energizing party workers across Odisha ahead of the upcoming electoral battles.
