Bhubaneswar- The vibrant world of beauty and wellness took center stage at Beauty Business Days (BBD) Bhubaneswar 2025, held on July 16–17 at Hotel Pipul Padmaja. This two-day event brought together more than 75 renowned brands under one roof and welcomed over 1,000 visitors, offering a comprehensive view of the evolving landscape of beauty, cosmetics, lifestyle, and fashion — not just as trends but as career and business opportunities.
Inaugurated by Dr. Blossom Kochhar, a celebrated figure and pioneer in India’s beauty and wellness industry, the event became a knowledge hub for aspiring beauty professionals and entrepreneurs. Organized by Fourth Wave Media, Indian Beauty Council, and Artistry.uk, the event highlighted how beauty is not just about appearance — it is about confidence, self-care, health, and professionalism.
Today’s beauty lifestyle goes beyond makeup and skin care — it emphasizes inner well-being, outer grooming, and mindful living. Visitors explored the benefits of using cosmetics tailored to skin types, including organic and Ayurvedic products that promote skin health without harmful side effects. Skin care routines using products with SPF, hydration formulas, and herbal ingredients were demonstrated live, underlining how healthy skin is the foundation of true beauty.
The event also stressed the importance of understanding product composition and how cosmetics, if used wisely, can enhance natural features without compromising long-term skin health. Dermatologists and brand experts spoke about balancing beauty routines with overall health — incorporating hydration, diet, sleep, and stress management as part of a holistic beauty regime.
Sheela Iyer, Founder of Fourth Wave Media, shared insights about the journey of Beauty Business Days, saying, “Beauty Business Days began in 2019 and has now made its mark in 34 cities across India. Our vision is to become the country’s leading beauty industry platform—uniting salon professionals, brands, and trade partners. We aim to empower salon businesses, drive professional brand growth, and nurture meaningful collaboration within the industry.”
Umakant Sahoo, founder of ARTISTRY.UK, emphasized how fashion meets function. In fashion, the focus was on individual expression and comfort. From casual urban wear to glam makeovers, live demos showed how fashion can be empowering when aligned with one’s personality and lifestyle. Fashion influencers and stylists shared tips on how to merge current trends with personal style, promoting confidence both on and off the runway.
The expo displayed fashion accessories, salon tools, and grooming kits, reinforcing the idea that personal presentation is a powerful professional and social tool. The integration of sustainable fashion and cruelty-free beauty products also showed the industry’s shift towards ethical choices.
Minati Sahoo, President of the Indian Beauty Council, and Umakant Sahoo shared their insights on career opportunities in beauty and wellness. The booming beauty industry offers exciting career paths. From makeup artistry, cosmetology, and hair styling to salon management, skincare consultancy, and wellness coaching, opportunities are vast. Live sessions conducted by beauty academies and brand owners provided insights into training programs, certifications, and franchise models. For many, this event served as a gateway into launching a career or business in the beauty parlour sector.
