Formal job creation under the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) went up by 6.8% in August to 2.07 million compared to 1.94 million in August 2023 while month-on-month ESIC witnessed a dip of 8% when compared to 2.25 million new registrations in July 2024, the ministry of labour and employment said.
As per the provisional payroll data, released on Saturday, around 28,917 new establishments have been brought under the social security ambit of the ESI scheme in August compared to 56,467 establishments added in July, 2024.
