New Delhi- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi held a series of key meetings in New Delhi with Union Ministers to push forward the state’s development agenda. During his visit, he met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and three other senior cabinet members to discuss a wide range of issues concerning Odisha’s progress.

In his meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah, the Chief Minister focused on strengthening Centre–state coordination, particularly in the areas of Naxal control, development of affected regions, and upgrading the state’s policing infrastructure. The discussions aimed to enhance security and stability in vulnerable districts.

The Chief Minister also met Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, where he put forth proposals related to improving the paddy procurement process in Odisha ahead of the upcoming harvest season. He urged the Centre to increase the monthly rice quota lifted by the Food Corporation of India to ensure smooth distribution and food security for the state.

Water sharing remained a top priority during his talks with Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil. CM Majhi raised the long-standing Mahanadi river water dispute and advocated for a fair and unbiased solution. He also handed over the state’s long-term development roadmap, ‘Vision Odisha 2036–2047’, highlighting strategies for water management and sustainable development.

The CM later met Union Minister for Heavy Industries, Public Enterprises, and Steel, HD Kumaraswamy, to discuss the growth of Odisha’s steel industry. The expansion of the Rourkela Steel Plant and ways to boost industrial investment and employment were at the core of the discussion. The Chief Minister once again shared the state’s comprehensive vision document outlining economic and industrial goals for the next two decades.

These strategic meetings reflect the Odisha government’s proactive approach to securing central support and driving long-term development across multiple sectors.
