Balasore (Odisha)- Just months after a student’s suicide at Fakir Mohan University rocked Odisha and triggered massive political uproar, another disturbing incident has sent fresh shockwaves through the campus. A youth from the Nilgiri area allegedly entered the residence of an assistant professor inside the university campus by pretending to be a gas repair technician and reportedly attempted to sexually assault the professor’s wife.
The accused has been apprehended by local police following the complaint, and an investigation is underway. Authorities are treating the matter with seriousness given the security concerns raised within the academic institution.
The incident has stirred deep unease in Balasore, particularly because the university had not yet recovered from the fallout of the recent student suicide case, which had exposed claims of mental harassment by a professor.
