Puri (Odisha)- In a rare spiritual outing, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani visited the holy town of Puri on Saturday to witness the grandeur of the world-renowned Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra. The industrialist’s presence added a unique significance to this year’s car festival, which draws millions of devotees from across the globe.
Adani landed at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar around 9:45 AM and proceeded directly to Puri to partake in the sacred festivities. As part of his itinerary, he visited the Gundicha Temple to offer prayers to the sibling deities and spent time interacting with temple servitors and devotees.
In the evening, Adani was scheduled to hold a meeting with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi before flying back from Bhubaneswar. His brief yet meaningful visit centered around spiritual participation and philanthropic engagement during the Yatra.
Marking his group’s commitment to service during the massive festival, the Adani Foundation launched the ‘Prasad Seva’ initiative in Puri. As part of this program, over 4 million free meals and beverages will be distributed to devotees and frontline personnel across the city during the Rath Yatra period, which continues till July 8.
Expressing his sentiments on social media platform X, Adani wrote:
“By the grace of Lord Shri Jagannath Ji, we have been blessed with the opportunity to serve in the sacred Rath Yatra of Puri Dham. This divine journey, commencing today, is the moment when the Lord Himself comes among His devotees to grant them His divine vision.
I pray that the grace of Lord Shri Jagannath Ji remains upon us all forever. Serving humanity is serving the Divine, and service itself is spiritual practice. Jai Jagannath!”
Welcomed warmly by the temple administration, Adani was offered traditional *patta bastra* and floral tributes, signifying honor and reverence from the servitor community.
As lakhs continue to flood the Grand Road of Puri for a glimpse and the divine pull of the chariots, the presence and participation of one of India’s leading industrialists reflected the inclusive and unifying spirit of the Rath Yatra — where every hand, noble intention, and humble service adds to the divine celebration.
