Puri ( Odisha):-The divine energy of Rath Yatra 2025 surged through the Grand Road of Puri today as millions gathered to witness the sacred journey of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra. Adding a special touch to this year’s celebration, newly-appointed Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, accompanied by his wife, participated in the ceremonial pulling of the Taladhwaja chariot of Lord Balabhadra.
The CM, along with Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, Deputy Chief Minister Prabhati Parida, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, and several cabinet colleagues, came together to pull the majestic chariot, marking a moment of devotion and unity.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Majhi visited the revered Govardhan Peeth and sought blessings from Jagadguru Shankaracharya. He then participated in several cultural and spiritual events scheduled around the Rath Yatra festivities.
In a heartwarming gesture, the CM also distributed “Tanka Torani”, a traditional Odia drink known for its cooling properties, to devotees assembled on the Bada Danda. This took place at a specially arranged public stall near the chariot route, reflecting the administration’s efforts to care for pilgrims amid the sweltering heat.
Additionally, a significant moment unfolded at the Singh Dwar of the Jagannath Temple when CM Mohan Majhi and Governor Dr. Kambhampati jointly unveiled a special Rath Yatra edition of the state government’s flagship publication **‘Utkal Prasang’**, published by the Department of Information and Public Relations.
Extending his heartfelt greetings to the people of Odisha on this auspicious occasion, Chief Minister Majhi said, “I convey my best wishes to all my brothers and sisters of Odisha on the occasion of the sacred Rath Yatra. May Mahaprabhu Jagannath bring peace, prosperity, and happiness into everyone’s lives.”
With sacred chants echoing in the air and lakhs of devotees expressing unshakable faith, this year’s Rath Yatra continues to embody the spiritual essence of Odisha, with state leaders joining in both service and celebration.
