Bargarh (Odisha): Bargarh witnessed the grand celebration of Divyang Diwas organized by Power of Dibyang. The event was attended by over 1,200 participants and focused on empowering Divyang individuals and promoting inclusivity.
Rehabilitation aids were distributed to Divyang members during the first session, including ten sewing machines, one saloon chair, one printer, and two cycle repair kits. Chief Guest MLA Ashwini Sarangi assured the construction of a multipurpose hall for Power of Dibyangs, bringing hope for enhanced support and development for the community.
The event was presided over by Founder President Adv. Shyam Sunder Agrawal and inaugurated by ADM Smt. Maduchhanda Sahu. Guest of Honour Sri Gurbaksh Chand Jagota, Director of CRCSRE Bolangir, a unit of NIRTAR, also graced the occasion with his presence.
A demand was raised to revise the government’s disability eligibility criteria from 80% to 60%, enabling more individuals to benefit from various facilities. Adding to the significance of the day, the theme song of Power of Dibyangs, directed by Sj. Litu Mohanty, was officially launched.
The second session featured former MP Dr. Prabhas Singh and former MLA Sri Sadhu Charan Nepak as esteemed guests. Secretary Meghanad Sahu presented a comprehensive report on the initiatives of Power of Dibyang.
The event was coordinated by Ratanlal Agrawal, Mami Mishra, Pushpanjali Sarangi, and Vandana Agarwal, Trustee of Smt. Nirmala Agrawal Charitable Trust.
