Bhubaneswar- In a significant meeting held at the Odisha Legislative Assembly today, members of the Odisha State Kendu Leaf Organization presented their concerns and demands to Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo. The primary focus of the discussions was to improve the earnings of kendu leaf pluckers, especially in light of the favorable weather conditions this year, which have led to a high-quality harvest.
Deputy Chief Minister Singh Deo responded positively, assuring the representatives that their demands would be taken into consideration with empathy. He confirmed that the issues raised would be forwarded to the Chief Minister for further review, with a solution expected soon.
The meeting also saw contributions from several key figures, including Forests, Environment, and Climate Change Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia, Additional Chief Secretary Satyabrat Sahu, and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Debidutta Biswal. They provided important insights and suggestions during the discussions.
